Believe the reviews that say it doesn’t get hot enough. Because they’re true. I’m not sure what the problem is but this thing doesn’t sear properly at all and i do keep the lid down when i’m grilling. The temp inside the grill easily exceeds 500 degrees but searing simply doesn’t happen.Maybe it’s because the burners are too far away from the grate. I don’t know, I didn’t engineer this thing but for whatever reason, every review you read that says it won’t sear a steak or any other cut of meat, believe it.Maybe go broil…
