Initial Experience: Positive, and I’m Optimistic Update 9/8/2019 – The Second Smoke:After reading in multiple places that adding a Nomex gasket to the door (about $12 for 15′ of 1/2″ x 1/8″ self-adhesive gasket material) helps a lot with temperature regulation, I installed one in preparation for a lengthy brisket smoke.WOW, what a difference that made! Donât buy a unit that has not been reviewed yet! The smoker as advertised was what I was looking for, a unit that time / temperature / smoke duration could be set and relatively hands free until finished. From the first burn in the temperature was uncontrollable, set to 300 degrees and the unit went to over 400. Needed constant attention for the first 90 minutes before settling down and maintaining a set temperature.
