A good portable smoker with pros and cons. Portable smoker with pros and cons. I purchased it at a warehouse club (mine has the stainless steel door). I smoked a small 5lb pork butt to test it. The butt smoked for 9 hours and was comparable to my other smokers in flavor. I used Traeger style pellets in the smoker box. They lasted about 1 ½ hours. I tracked the temperature for about 4 hours trying to keep in around 225F. The smoker had about a +/-10 degree variance, above and below the 225F mark. I used a Thermoworks probe and…
Great smoker for beginners or those with limited space. Nice little smoker. Toss the wood chip tray it comes with and buy a bigger one. Get the adapter to hook up 20l b Propane tank. The lower rack sits too close to the flame so the food on this rack essentially gets grilled. To dissipate the flame I folded foil over 5 or 6 times and put it under the food. It helped quite a bit. Be sure to rotate the food from top rack to bottom and vice versa. I use a turkey baster to suck up the drippings from the water pan and baste the meat……This is a great…
