Slow, uneven heat and pale, bland food Let me start by saying, yes, I read the directions. 🙂 Even after cleaning the unit and its plates thoroughly, expect it to smell BAD and smoke somewhat the first few times you use it. Also, the top and bottom do not heat to the same temperature. It takes awhile to heat up and if you open it and add food, it cools it right down again and it has to heat up slowly again. Good, but not as good as the original
Top grill plate falls off Just opened the box and was so anxious to cook dinner BUT it’s unusable because top grill plate continually falls off. Latch will not hold even after trying 43 times!!!! My husband, who is an engineer, thought the magnet in the center of the top lid was a brilliant idea to help keep the top grill in place.
