How TRU-Infrared Works
All Char-Broil TRU-Infrared grills generate a minimum of 65 percent infrared heat, which is evenly spread across the entire cooking surface to cook food — without drying — at temperatures that range from simmer to sear.
Unlike traditional gas grills that use convective heat (hot air) to cook food, Char-Broil’s TRU-Infrared grills limit the hot air flow and use natural, radiant heat to cook food directly without drying. While convective heat destroys food’s moisture barrier, infrared heat penetrates it without drying and locks in natural juices and flavors. Char-Broil’s TRU-Infrared cooking system virtually eliminates flare-ups while producing very even heat (no hot or cold spots).

However, I needed a small but useful electric grill for my third floor condo patio. Assembly was straight forward in about 16 or so steps. The screws and other hardware were of exceptional quality. I was impressed. In about 45 minutes while watching LSU play Jacksonville State, it was done. I put it out on the patio for a test burn in for about an hour on 5 or high. In about 30 minutes it…
Somewhat disappointed; slow to heat; hard to clean I purchased this grill from Amazon. It took quite a while to assemble and the instructions are not specific enough for someone mechanically incompetent, such as me, so I got to assemble some things more than once. There was a defect, a minor one, in that one of the parts was not machined correctly – the little axle thing for one of the wheels did not have a hole that went all the way through, so I could not attach the clip that holds it together. I rarely move the grill, so I don’t care…
